We know how scary the weather can be. From wildfires to excessive rainfall and flooding, the news and forecasts can be a source of worry and uncertainty for folks. Hurricane season can bring its own daunting headlines. Our company has been living through Atlantic hurricane seasons and insuring homes since 1896. We're Virginians protecting Virginians. So we know a little bit about getting ready for a big storm. And we know there's a ton of information out there- some good, some not so good. So how do you know which resources are the most sound for your family?
That's why we created our interactive Hurricane Preparedness Guide just for Virginians. We vetted some of the most reliable resources from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), the Insurance Information Institute (III.org), and the American Red Cross. We want you and your family to prepare well, with the best information, for any future hurricane.
We also have good information that can answer questions you may have about insurance for flood damage, and preparing your roof, gutters, and trees for hurricane season. We encourage all of our members to have a home inventory. Having one makes any claims process run a whole lot smoother. We also recommend chatting with your independent agent to review and understand your coverage regularly.
